A ACIPS foi fundada no dia um de março de 1994, tendo sido então designada deAssociação Comercial e Industrial do Concelho de Ponte de Sor, cuja designação foialterada a vinte e dois de Maio de 2013 para Associação Comercial e Industrial de Ponte de Sor. A ACIPS é uma associação de direito privado, sem fins lucrativos.Desde então, tem como fim promover o desenvolvimento das atividades económicas do Concelho de Ponte de Sor nos domínios técnico, económico, comercial, industrial e associativo, e em especial a defesa e representação dos interesses dos seus associados assegurando-lhes uma crescente participação nas decisões e nos programas que com essas atividades se relacionem.Graças à sua dinâmica, tem vindo a afirmar-se na região, sendo atualmente considerada como uma entidade associativa de grande importância na defesa, não só dos interesses dos empresários, como também dos interesses regionais, numa perspectiva mais global.Ao longo dos 25 anos de provas dadas e de trabalho desenvolvido, foram definidas estratégias cujos objetivos assentam nos princípios que estiveram na base da sua origem, embora tenham, neste momento, um alcance bem mais abrangente e ambicioso.
